Beach Babe!

We spent the last week in California to escape the AZ heat! I love California. Beach = amazing. Traffic...not so much. Especially with a 4 month old. But it was nice to get away. We visited with my in laws for a few days at Chads childhood home. It was wonderful. The home is filled with sweet memories for Chad, and is wonderfully overflowing with lush gardens, and fresh baked goods. It truly is reviving staying there. Then we scooted off to San Diego where we rented a beach house for a couple of days. We were only 100 steps to the sand which made it so easy to take baby.

Of course reality hits, we are home now and kicked into high gear playing catchup BUT it's almost the end of August which means...FALL is almost here!!! Xoxo-B

Pumped up Pony

This is one of my favorite summer hairstyles. Well, it's good for anytime! Especially now since my little boy he is grabbing fistful's of hair!

Start by separating your hair into different sections. AND TEASE!

Gather the top layer of your hair in a twisting motion and Bobby pin that up. The twist helps it stay up and it looks cute too.

Gather the remaining hair with a hair tie and hide it under the top layer.

AND BAM! You're ready to go!

Today I wanted to share a makeup and style tip. I am no makeup artist, but I take this philosophy with me for my style & in my life!

Tip from my home to yours: Tease me, Please!

Who doesn't like BIG, BEAUTIFUL HAIR? I know I do! But it took a bit of practice for me to learn how to TEASE (or "back comb")  my hair. So I want to share with you what I've learned about BIG hair!

First, there are a few tools you will need to start out with: A teasing comb and some killer hair spray! 

Here are a few of my favorites (click the link above to order these products):

After you have styled your hair (straightened, blow-dried or even curled) you can begin the teasing!

It is important to take the hair section by section. Take the Comb and brush short strokes up and down the hair section without removing the comb from the hair (this can cause breakage)

After the first section is backcombed, spray a few spritzes of your favorite strong hold hairspray right at the root of the hair for maximum hold!

Move onto the next section until all the necessary layers of your hair is teased! 

I usually only tease the top of hair, the left (and right) side hair, and the crown hair (you can tease the lower layers of your hair if your hair is pretty thin):

FYI...you may need to gently comb your hair afterwards (don't brush the tease out) but comb the top layer of your hair to smooth out any flyaways.
